Public Defender Congratulates Citizens of Georgia on Nowruz Bayram

On March 21 Nowruz Bayram is celebrated in Georgia like many other countries.

Nowruz is a holiday of the arrival of spring, predominance of the day, awakening of nature and warmth, which has been celebrated in Georgia for a long time (the proof of this can be founfd in the Man and the Panther’s Skin poem). This holiday is especially popular among the ethnic Azerbaijani population of Georgia.

I congratulate our fellow citizens on the Nowruz Bayram holiday and share with them the joy of this day. I wish you the victory of warmth over cold, light over darkness, life over death, both in your personal life and all over the world. We all need this victory especially today.

In 2010, the UN General Assembly recognized International Day of Nowruz. At the UNESCO Summit on September 28, 2009, Nowruz was officially included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
