Meeting with Representatives of CEC Group Working on Issues of Ethnic Minorities
On October 8, 2024, Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, and members of the Council of National Minorities of the Public Defender of Georgia met with Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), and representatives of the CEC group working on ethnic minorities issues.
The Public Defender spoke about the involvement of representatives of ethnic minorities in civil and political processes, the importance of equal participation in elections and the activities carried out in the direction of informing ethnic minorities.
The Public Defender and members of the Council of National Minorities received information about the projects implemented by the CEC for the voters living in regions densely populated by ethnic minorities, as well as the details of the modernization of elections and the use of electronic technologies.
