On May 21, 2021, Tamar Gvaramadze and Giorgi Burjanadze, Deputies of the Public Defender of Georgia, met with Rati Bregadze, Minister of Justice of Georgia and his Deputies.

As it is known to the public, the communication between the Public Defender's Office and the Ministry has been complicated lately, and it is welcome that at today's meeting the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation and future plans. Representatives of the Public Defender shared the findings and recommendations of the Office with the Minister.

The shortcomings in the penitentiary system and the rights situation of prisoners, problems with enforcement of court judgments, rights situation of foreigners and other issues were also discussed at the meeting.
