On May 31, 2023, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani held a working meeting with representatives of non-governmental organizations and introduced the future plans and priorities of the Office to them.

In a question-and-answer and discussion format, the meeting participants spoke about the challenges relating to the protection of human rights in the country, unfriendly environment in terms of political freedom and security, shortcomings in the judicial system, problems relating to freedom of the media, participation of the Public Defender in the law-making process and other issues.

The Public Defender and representatives of the civil sector expressed readiness for deepening cooperation. The parties agreed to hold intensive and thematic meetings in the future.
