On May 14-15, 2024, Irine Chikhladze, Deputy Public Defender of Georgia, and Ana Kvatchadze, acting Head of the Equality Department, attended a joint working meeting held by the Albanian Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, the European Network of Equality Bodies (Equinet) and the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrumentof theEuropeanCommission (TAIEX). The theme of the meeting was – “Standards for Equality Bodies".

The aim of the meeting was to raise awareness of the two new EU Directives (proposed by the European Commission) of the Standards for Equality Bodies and to discuss the possibility of their implementation in non-EU countries. The participants in the meeting spoke about the challenges at the national level, necessary legislative changes and good practices.
