Training on Gender Discrimination in the Workplace
On 22-26 October 2018, the Public Defender of Georgia organized training, the topic of which was: “Gender-based discrimination in the workplace”. The training was attended by labour inspectors of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Protection and representatives of Employers’ Association, Trade Union and its member organizations.
The training was aimed at raising awareness of gender-based discrimination in labour relations, sexual harassment and women's right to work. The training was led by international expert Sara Maccurb and the Head of the Department of Equality of the Public Defender's Office, Ketevan Shubashvili.
Participants of the training received information about the basic issues of equality, legislation and international practice. They actively shared their own work practices by using interactive and practical exercises.
The training was carried out with financial and technical support of UN Women.
