On March 12, 2024, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani met with members of the delegation from the GenevaCentreforSecurity SectorGovernance (DCAF), Grazvydas Jasutis, Kristina Cernejute and Rebecca Mikova.

The Public Defender introduced the mandate of the Office to the guests; He spoke about the situation of the rights of military personnel in the country, emphasized the need for the legislative reform of the defence system for the elimination of socio-economic challenges faced by veterans and the work of the Office in this direction. The situation in the conflict regions and along the occupation line was also discussed at the meeting.

Representatives of the GenevaCentreforSecurity SectorGovernance expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Public Defender’s Office to achieve the goal of legal and political settlement of the security situation in Georgia.
