Meeting with Ambassador of Switzerland
On 28 January 2019, Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Patric Franzen, Ambassador of Switzerland to Georgia, and informed him of the mandate of the Public Defender and the challenges faced by the Public Defender's Office.
Nino Lomjaria also emphasized the challenges faced by people living in the occupied territories, such as freedom of movement, problems related to documentation, access to education and healthcare, and talked about the possible ways of solving the problems.
The Ambassador of Switzerland praised the performance of the Public Defender and expressed willingness for future cooperation.
The introductory meeting was also attended by Meri Kochlamazashvili - Advisor to the Public Defender for Human Rights in the Conflict-Affected Regions, Ketevan Akhobadze - Legal Expert, Christoph Spati- Caucasus Programme Officer Directorate of Political Affairs DP, Medea Turashvili - Human Rights Officer, and Armin Reiser – Counsellor Human Security Adviser for the South Caucasus.
