On November 17, 2023, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, visited Marneuli municipality, where he met with local population, representatives of the media and civil sector.

The social situation of the residents of the Kvemo Kartli region, the shortcomings of state services, including the services for older persons, the problems related to education, the vicious practice of early marriage, and the barriers to the involvement of the civil sector in the decision-making process at the municipal level were discussed at the meeting.

The Public Defender also got himself acquainted with the cultural heritage of the region, including the tradition of the tea table, Azerbaijani dances and carpet weaving.
