On February 2, 2024, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani visited the National Mental Health Center in the village of Kutiri, Khoni municipality.

The Public Defender viewed the buildings and the yard of the institution, inspected the sanitary-hygienic conditions in the living rooms and common space. He also met and talked with both the institution's administration and the beneficiaries.

The Public Defender shoed special interest in the rights of the patients placed in the institution and their social protection.

According to the administration, the institution does not have sufficient financial and infrastructural capabilities for the examination and treatment of somatic diseases.

The Public Defender's Office intensively inspects institutions providing mental health and reflects the received information in annual and special reports.
