Public Defender’a Representatives Hold Meetings with Mayors of Eastern Georgia Municipalities

In February-July 2022, Giorgi Talakhadze, Head of the Eastern Georgia Division of the Public Defender's Office, together with regional representatives of the Office, held meetings in Kakheti, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti municipalities in order to get acquainted with the heads of self-governments and deepen cooperation with them.

At the meetings, representatives of the municipalities received information about the activities of the Office and its future plans in relation to the local self-governments, and talked about the situation of human rights and the relevant challenges in the regions.

It should be noted that the Public Defender’s Office is eager to solve systemic and individual problems through advocacy and close cooperation with local self-governments.

Mayors and other responsible persons participating in the meetings also expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Public Defender’s Office and to do their best to implement the Public Defender's recommendations.
