Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, has met with Anri Okhanashvili, Minister of Justice of Georgia. The Public Defender congratulated the Minister of Justice on his appointment to the position and wished him success.

The main issue of discussion at the meeting was the rights situation of prisoners and challenges in penitentiary institutions. The Public Defender introduced the Minister to the reports and recommendations prepared by the Office in this direction.

The Minister of Justice and the Public Defender emphasized the mutual cooperation over the years and expressed their readiness to continue close coordination between the Ministry of Justice and the Public Defender’s Office.

The meeting was attended by the Deputies of the Public Defender and Deputies of the Minister of Justice.
