Public Defender’s Office Reelected Member of Bureau of European Network of Ombudsmen for Children (ENOC)
On September 19-21, 2022, Ketevan Sokhadze, a representative of the Public Defender, participated in the 26th Annual Conference and General Assembly of the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC), which was held in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.
It should be noted that the Public Defender’s Office was elected as a member of the Bureau of the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC) for the second time in a row. Ketevan Sokhadze, the acting head of the Department of the Rights of the Child, will represent the Public Defender in the Bureau for a period of one year. In addition, Ketevan Sokhadze was elected as a child protection officer of the Network, which means that she will be the contact person for any child protection challenges within the framework of the Network's children and youth participation project.
The membership of the network and especially the participation in the work of the Bureau are of great importance for the Public Defender’s Office.
ENOC's mission is to protect the rights of the child and realize their full promotion, in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and its protocols, through capacity building, information and experience sharing, advocacy and mutual assistance of its members and stakeholders.
