Commissioner forHuman Rights (Ombudsman) of Turkmenistan Yazdursun Gurbannazarova, Deputy Ombudsman of Turkmenistan Nuri Komekov and Attache of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Bagul Kerimova paid a working visit to the Public Defender’s Office of of Georgia.

On July 25, the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan met with Georgian Public Defender Levan Ioseliani and the Deputies of the Public Defender. At the introductory meeting, the Public Defender talked about the best practices of the Office activities.

Within the framework of the working visit, the delegation of Turkmenistan will hold meetings with the various units of the Public Defender’s Office, including members of the National Preventive Mechanism, representatives of the Departments of Gender, Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Children's Rights, Human Rights Education and Equality, as well as representatives of the Tolerance Center.

A visit is also scheduled to the Gori office in order to share information about the work specifics of the regional offices of the Public Defender's Office.
