On July 17, 2023, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani met with representatives of the non-governmental sector operating in Batumi, Adjara.

The main topics discussed at the meeting were the justice system, freedom of expression, minority rights, child abuse, issues related to labour and property.

Levan Ioseliani emphasized the importance of cooperation between the non-governmental sector and the Public Defender’s Office and noted that human rights defenders’ coordinated work was necessary in the process of solving the issues raised at the meeting.

The event was held within the framework of the partnership programme between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia.
