May 26 - Independence Day of Georgia

With the Declaration of Independence on May 26, 1918, Georgia expressed its aspiration to be a democratic, legal, human rights-based state that "equally protects the civil and political rights of all citizens, regardless of nationality and sex, within its borders", where all people are equal before the law and where discrimination is prohibited.

Public Defender Levan Ioseliani and the Public Defender’s Office wish the people of Georgia a Happy Independence Day, thank and pay tribute to the memory of those whose dedication, tireless work and struggle earned the independence of our country.
