August 24 Marks Constitution Day of Georgia
Public Defender Levan Ioseliani congratulates the citizens of Georgia on the Constitution Day. This supreme law protects and regulates the legal rights of the society as a whole, and each of its members, establishes fundamental norms for the democratic development of the country and establishment of economic freedom, social and legal state.
The second chapter of the Constitution of Georgia reviews the fundamental human rights, on the basis of which the Public Defender supervises the protection of human rights and freedoms on the territory of Georgia, detects cases of their violation, and promotes restoration of the violated rights.
The Parliament of Georgia adopted the Constitution of Georgia on August 24, 1995, based on the historical-legal heritage of the 1921 Constitution.
