On May 11, 2023, Public Defender of Georgia Levan Ioseliani, who is on an official visit to Brussels, met with the directors and representatives of the secretariat of the European Network of Equality Bodies (Equinet) and the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI).

At the meetings, the Public Defender discussed the situation of equality in Georgia, emphasized the special mandate of the Office and spoke about his future plans as a mechanism to fight against discrimination in the country. The activities of the groups working on the rights of older people and persons with disabilities were also discussed and willingness was expressed to deepen cooperation between the institutions in this direction.
