Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Mathieu Mori, Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Head of the Co-operationActivities Unit Marité Moras and project officer Giulia Nason.

The development of a human rights strategy at the local self-government level and the activities of the municipalities, as well as the need to raise awareness of human rights, were discussed at the meeting. Levan Ioseliani emphasized the close cooperation of regional offices with municipalities. According to him, the Public Defender's Office has 9 regional offices throughout Georgia, the main function of which is to raise awareness in addition to responding to human rights violations.

The parties agreed on close cooperation and exchange of working information in the future.
