On September 6, 2023, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, met with the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia, Mrs. Meline Arakelian.

The Public Defender introduced the mandate and priorities of his Office to the Ambassador. The state of human rights protection of people living in the occupied territories of Georgia, enforcement mechanisms of the anti-discrimination law, the rights of veterans and the possibilities of sharing the great experience of the Netherlands in this direction were discussed at the meeting.

The guest showed interest in the implementation of the 12 recommendations put forth by the European Commission and the role of the Public Defender of Georgia in this process.
