Public Defender Meets with Ambassador of France and Representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France
On January 21, 2021, Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Diego Colas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Georgia, and Rémy Bouallegue, Head of the Caucasus and Central Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.
Important topics of the meeting were Georgia's integration into the European space and the need for carrying out democratic reforms, as well as recent human rights violations, shortcomings in the investigation of hate crimes and offences committed by the law enforcement, and statements and actions directed against democratic human rights institutions.
The Public Defender briefed the guests on her mandate and the human rights mechanisms at her disposal.
