On March 14-16, First Deputy Public Defender Tamar Gvaramadze participated in the annual meetings of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) and the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) in Geneva.

On March 14, the General Assembly of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) was held, where ENNHRI progress report, financial report and new small grant mechanism were presented to the Network members; in addition, a report on the implementation of the 2021/1 recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe regarding national human rights institutions (NHRI) was presented.

On March 15, at the General Assembly, members of the Alliance spoke about the new members of the GANHRI Bureau, amendments to the statute, financial and audit report, progress report, 2023-2027 strategy and 2023 work plan.

In one of the working sessions facilitated by Tamar Gvaramadze, participants talked about the experience, achievements and challenges related to the prevention of torture and ill-treatment, cooperation with the government and non-governmental organizations in the direction of victim protection and the practice of working with vulnerable groups.

The GANHRI annual conference was held on March 16, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Paris Principles and the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

At the end of the annual meeting, members adopted a joint statement.
