On May 5, 2023, Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Tamila Barkalaia, Deputy Minister of IDPs from the occupied territories of Georgia, Labour, Health and Social Affairs.

The topics of discussion at the meeting were the situation of the rights of children, persons with disabilities, women and older people, conditions in the shelters and powers of the labour inspectorate. Issues related to the provision of services to vulnerable groups were highlighted.

The meeting was also attended by Tamar Gvaramadze, First Deputy Public Defender, and Meri Maglaperidze, Director of the Agency for State Care and Assistance for Victims of Trafficking.
