Femicide monitoring methodologies and challenges in practice were discussed at the meeting. Representatives of the Public Defender introduced the participants to the 2022 United Nations statistical framework for measuring the gender-related killing of women and girls (femicide/feminicide).

The meeting participants also discussed the difficulties of producing statistics on gender-based killings of women and girls and planned future activities for the purpose of introducing a common methodology for collecting and analyzing statistics, which will be implemented with the involvement of all relevant agencies.
