On April 19-28, 2023, employees of the Gender Department of the Public Defender’s Office, Sopio Rusetski, Nino Iakobidze and Gvantsa Kharatishvili, met with gender equality council members in Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Kvemo Kartli municipalities and held information meetings with them.

During the information meeting, the representatives of the Public Defender talked to the gender equality council members about the essence of gender and basic concepts, violence against women, domestic violence and femicide. The role of local self-governments in the process of preventing violence against women and domestic violence and empowerment of victims were also discussed at the meeting.
