Monitoring Report on Service Facilities for Victims of Violence and Trafficking

The special report presents the results of the monitoring carried out by the Public Defender Office of Georgia in all state shelters and crisis centers operating in Georgia.

For the above purpose, employees of the Gender Department of the Public Defender Office, with the support of UN Women, visited shelters in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Gori and Sighnaghi in 2023; They also visited the crisis centers of Tbilisi, Gori, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Marneuli and Telavi.

As a result of the visits, a monitoring report was developed and recommendations were issued to eliminate the deficiencies identified.

The Public Defender’s Office hopes that the shortcomings revealed as a result of the monitoring will help improve the provision of services to victims of violence by the Agency for State Care and Assistance to Victims of Trafficking.
