On October 28, 2019, Public Defender's regional representative Salome Kuljanishvili held an informational meeting at Talitha Kum – a day care centre for persons with disabilities in Akhaltsikhe.

Salome Kuljanishvili introduced the mandate of the Public Defender, activities of the Public Defender's Samtskhe-Javakheti Office and the Department of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to the administration and beneficiaries of the day centre. The rights situation of persons with disabilities was also discussed at the meeting.

The manager of Talitha Kum expressed his willingness for future cooperation with the Public Defender's regional office and discussed opportunities for bilateral engagement in joint information meetings and other events.

The beneficiaries of Akhaltsikhe day care centre are engaged in singing, painting, sculpting and wood work as part of the rehabilitation-habilitation programme, which promotes their inclusion and integration in the public life.
