Training on Equality Issues for Employees of Medical Activities Regulatory Agency and Ministry of Health

On September 8, 2022, representatives of the Equality Department of the Public Defender’s Office held training on issues of equality and non-discrimination for the employees of the Ministry of Health and the Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities Regulatory Agency.

The Public Defender’s representatives spoke about the anti-discrimination legislation and rights protection mechanisms, as well as elements and forms of discrimination. Special attention was paid to the Public Defender's standards and practices in the field of medical and social protection. Prohibition of sexual harassment was also discussed at the training.

The Public Defender considers educational and awareness-raising activities as the most important component in the process of ensuring equality and will continue to hold similar trainings in the future too.

The event was supported by the USAID-PDO Partnership Programme of the Grant Agreement between the Public Defender’s Office and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
