Meeting with President of Polish Personal Data Protection Office
On February 28, 2024, Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, and Tamar Gvaramadze, First Deputy Public Defender of Georgia, met with MirosławWróblewski, the newly elected President of the Personal Data Protection Office of Poland.
The parties introduced the mandates of the institutions to each other. They emphasized the importance of close business relations between the ombudsman and personal data protection offices operating for raising the standard of human rights protection. Prospects of future cooperation between the Public Defender of Georgia and the Personal Data Protection Office of Poland were also discussed.
Levan Ioseliani congratulated the President of the Personal Data Protection Office on his appointment to the new position and expressed hopes that he will continue his fruitful cooperation with the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia as a member of the Board of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI), as he was doing as the Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights of Poland.
The meeting was also attended by Piotr Dobrek, a representative of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office, Adviser to the President.
