On 24 October 2019, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria and First Deputy Public Defender Tamar Gvaramadze met with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Mr. Hubert Knirsch.

Nino Lomjaria talked about the involvement of the Public Defender's Office in the criminal investigation into the alleged abuse of power by the officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on June 20-21, 2019, and introduced the recommendations developed on the basis of the monitoring of the case.

The Ambassador was also briefed on the position of the Public Defender regarding the selection of the Supreme Court judges and the special report presented by the Public Defender on October 8.
