On February 11, 2020, Deputy Public Defender Ekaterine Skhiladze met with women living in the Akhmeta municipality and spoke about the activities of the Public Defender in the field of gender equality, the need for women's economic independence, domestic violence and reproductive health.

The negative consequences of women’s low involvement in the planning of socio-infrastructure projects, importance of close communication with local self-government and the need for strengthening women’s role were other themes of the meeting.
