Working Meeting with Representative of the Department for Execution of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe

On June 26, 2023, a working meeting was held for the employees of the Public Defender’s Office. The topics of discussion at the meeting were the judgements delivered by the European Court of Human Rights against Georgia. Ketevan Tskhomelidze, a lawyer of the Department for the Execution of Judgements of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, spoke about the procedures for the execution of judgements.

First Deputy Public Defender Tamar Gvaramadze opened the meeting with a welcome speech.

The Public Defender’s Office has been actively sending communications to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for years, evaluating the state of execution of judgements delivered by the European Court of Human Rights against Georgia. The experience gained at the working meeting will help the staff of the Office in the process of preparing further communications.

The event was held with the support of the USAID-PDO partnership programme.
