Decisions of Constitutional Court relating to Lawsuits of Religious Organizations

On 13 December 2018, the Public Defender of Georgia participated in a round table, the theme of which was: the judgments of the Constitutional Court of Georgia concerning the lawsuits of religious organizations, relevant legislative amendments and their implementation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of religious organizations, international missions, diplomatic corps, non-governmental organizations, lawyers and experts.

The Public Defender talked about discrimination in the tax and property legislations, which has been the subject of the Public Defender’s interest for years and has been responded by relevant recommendations.

The round table was organized by the Tolerance and Diversity Institute (TDI), the Public Defender of Georgia and the Free University of Tbilisi. The event was supported by the Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness (UNAG/PITA) and the Promoting the Rule of Law in Georgia (EWMI/PROLoG) projects funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
