On 10 September 2019, Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Brock Bierman, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia, and discussed the situation of democracy and human rights in Georgia.

Brock Burman awarded the Public Defender a medal for her contribution to the development of democracy as a sign of support and gratitude to her.
