Public Defender Reaches Settlement in Alleged Age-Related Discrimination Case

On April 11, 2025, the Public Defender negotiated another settlement between the parties in an alleged age-based discrimination case, which concerned participation in an exchange training programme. It should be noted that since 2014, after the Law of Georgia on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination came into force, the Public Defender has negotiated a settlement between the parties for the fourth time.

According to the terms of the settlement, the respondent offered the applicant participation in an exchange training project to be implemented this year. The Public Defender emphasizes the importance of settling a dispute between the parties as a quick, effective and acceptable method of dispute resolution for both parties.

The Public Defender of Georgia will monitor the fulfillment of the obligations specified in the settlement act and will try to use the possibility of settlement between the parties in cases of alleged discrimination even more actively in future activities.
