Public Defender Meets MEPs
On December 12, 2024, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, met with Members of European Parliament visiting Georgia.
The Public Defender introduced the mandate and authority of the Office to the guests, spoke about the role of the institution in relation to the recent developments, including the mechanisms for processing and transferring information, obtained about persons detained and injured during the protests, for investigation.
The MEPs also showed interest in the degree of independence and freedom of action of the Public Defender’s Office.
The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Public Defender Tamar Gvaramadze.
