Public Defender Meets with US Ambassador
On December 9, 2024, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan.
The Public Defender spoke about the recent developments and activities of the Office, including visiting protesters at temporary detention centers and clinics, collection of materials for investigation and provision of information to the Special Investigation Service. He emphasized the need to respond to the cases of ill-treatment by law enforcement officers.
The Ambassador thanked the Public Defender for his work in an emergency mode and the activities that the Office aimed at establishing the principles of human rights in Georgia.
The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Public Defender Tamar Gvaramadze.
