On May 2, 2023, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani visited the Kutaisi assisted living facility for older persons, met with the beneficiaries and staff of the institution, and representatives of the administration. The Public Defender viewed the residential area, the food unit, infrastructure and sanitary-hygienic conditions. He showed interest in the quality of medical services and various activities older persons are engaged in.

The Public Defender’s Office constantly monitors assisted living facilities operating in the country, reports on the situation there and issues relevant recommendations, which are also reflected in the Public Defender’s annual parliamentary reports.
