On May 22-24, 2023, Georgian Public Defender Levan Ioseliani will pay an official visit to Strasbourg, where he will hold high-level meetings.

The Public Defender will review the situation of human rights in Georgia and the implementation of obligations for receiving candidate status.

Meetings are scheduled with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Dunja Mijatović, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), the Department for the Execution ofJudgments of the European Court of Human Rights, the European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR), the Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law (DGI), the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) and other high-ranking officials working on human rights issues.
