On 12 November 2018, Nino Lomjaria, the Public Defender of Georgia, met with Carl Hartzell, EU Ambassador to Georgia, and Peter Denis, Legal Programme Manager of the EU Delegation.

Nino Lomjaria discussed the situation of human rights in Georgia and briefed the EU Ambassador of the Public Defender’s mandate. Other topics of the meeting were the problems relating to the investigation of the cases of ill-treatment and, in general, the challenges in the judiciary and law enforcement agencies.

The Public Defender thanked the Ambassador for the important assistance rendered by the European Union to the Public Defender's Office for years. The sides spoke about future cooperation as well.
