Public Defender Meets NGOS of Drug Policy National Platform

On December 23, 2016, Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili and Public Defender Natia Katsitadze met with representatives of the non-governmental organizations representing the Drug Policy National Platform.

The NGO representatives briefed the Public Defender of the concept of the legislative changes drafted by them, the aim of which is to replace the state’s repressive drug policy with more liberal and balanced policy.

The Public Defender and representatives of the NGOs agreed on to strengthen future cooperation and carry out joint activities.

The civil society representatives thanked the Public Defender for active cooperation with the Platform and active efforts for the liberalization of the drug policy.
