Celebration of Nowruz Bairam in Georgia has become a tradition. The festivity marks arrival of spring and new life.

In 2010, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed International Nowruz Day, while at the UNESCO session of September 28, 2009, Nowruz was officially prescribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage List of Humanity.
