Memorandum with Armenian Ombudsman
On 16 October 2019, Georgian Public Defender Nino Lomjaria and Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties agreed to share best practices, which will help the two human rights institutions achieve better results in the region in terms of protection of human rights and establish a higher standard.
The memorandum envisages cooperation in the fields of civil, political, economic, social, cultural, ecological, business and human rights, elimination of torture, protection of the criminal justice rights, etc. In addition, information will be exchanged in the event of violation(s) of human rights of one country on the territory of another country.
