Meeting of Public Defender’s Council of National Minorities
On 5 November 2015 Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili and Deputies of Public Defender Paata Beltadze and Natia Katsitadze held a meeting with members of the Council of National Minorities.
Future plans of the Council of National Minorities under the Public Defender’s Office, the issues of education, cultural heritage and protection of general rights, which are the main cause for concern for the national minorities living in Georgia, were discussed at the meeting. The Public Defender and members of the Council of National Minorities agreed on closer cooperation and frequent periodic meetings.
The issue of Advocates of Tolerance of 2015, which are annually elected by the Council of National Minorities, was also considered at the meeting.
