Academy of Human Rights Holds Training for Military Personnel
On November 16-20, 2015, third training was held within the framework of the Public Defender's Academy of Human Rights fora middle-level military personnel and military lawyers. The theme of the training was “Human rights in the military service”.
Expert Tamar Pataraia and invited Czech expert Zoran Nerandnichspoke about the international human rights law and its connection with military service, discipline and human rights in the armed forces, unlawful commands and expected consequences, responsibility and honesty, women in the army, democratic control of the defense system and other issues.
The training was aimed at raising awareness and knowledge in human rights among military personnel.
After completing practical and theoretical courses, participants of the training received certificates from Tamar Gabiani, Head of the Public Defender's Departmentof Human Rights in the Field of Defense, and Niko Tatulashvili, Head of the Department of International Relations and Communication.
