On July 29, 2025, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, met with the population of the village of Sadakhlo and eco-migrants settled in the village of Khikhani in Marneuli Municipality.

According to the population of Sadakhlo, their main problem is the malfunction of irrigation systems and the far distance from the fire and rescue service.

The 80 families of eco-migrants settled in Khikhani are mostly socially vulnerable. They have been unable to register their lands and houses for years; they also demand from the local self-government to add municipal transport.
