On November 15, 2023, Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Edite Medne, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Georgia.

At the introductory meeting, Levan Ioseliani introduced the mandate and priorities of the Public Defender’s Office to the Ambassador, and discussed the situation of human rights in the country and security issues of citizens living in the vicinity of the occupied territories.

The parties also talked about the prospects of close cooperation between the agencies.
