First Deputy Public Defender Takes Active Part in ENNHRI Events

On November 19-20, 2025, the General Assembly and the governing body meetings of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) were held in Brussels, in which the First Deputy Public Defender of Georgia, Tamar Gvaramadze, participated as a member of the Board.

The Board and the General Assembly finally approved the Network's Strategic Plan for 2026-2030, the updated work rules for the Network working groups, as well as the rules for the election of members of governing entities.

On November 20, a high-level discussion was held in parallel with the General Assembly and Board meeting regarding human rights challenges. Tamar Gvaramadze chaired the second panel, which brought together representatives of partner organizations of the European Network of Human Rights Institutions, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Michael O'Flaherty, Deputy Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) Tea Jaliashvili, Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for Europe Christina Meinecke, and other partners. The panel discussed the challenges that complicate the effective work of international organizations to protect human rights.
