Public Defender Meets with EU Ambassador to Georgia

On September 29, 2022, Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Pawel Herczynski, the newly appointed Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia.

At the introductory meeting, Nino Lomjaria informed the Ambassador about the current situation of human rights and freedoms in Georgia, the priorities of the Public Defender's Office and the challenges faced by human rights institutions. Other issues discussed included Georgia's European perspective and implementation of 12 obligations of the European Union relating to the status of a candidate country.

Deputies of the Public Defender, Tamar Gvaramadze and Giorgi Burjanadze, also attended the meeting.
