On April 16, 2025, Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, met with Sergey Lagodinsky, a member the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance of the European Parliament.

The human rights situation in the country, the progress of the trials of those detained during the protests and the role of the Public Defender's institution were the topics of discussion at the meeting.

The Public Defender also introduced the MEP to the mandate of the Public Defender's Office and the main findings and challenges in the 2024 Parliamentary Report on the Situation of Human Rights and Freedoms.
